THERMAL GREEN ULTRA
CELLULOSE FIBRE INSULATION
IECS Cellulose Products Division manufactures quality loose fill type 1 cellulose fibre insulation at their modern, computerized, state of the art facility in Rodney, Ontario Canada. This insulation is produced on site using 100% recycled paper fibre products. Thermal Green Ultra Cellulose Fibre Insulation is manufactured under a Quality Management System that is compliant to ISO 9001.
BENEFITS OF CELLULOSE FIBRE INSULATION
EASE OF INSTALLATION
Cellulose can be blown into difficult, small and irregular locations to form a blanket that conforms to the space immediately around it. Acting as a tight barrier, cellulose eliminates existing air leakage problems or convection deficiencies that are often associated with other insulations.
OPEN ATTICS
A flexible hose connected to a blower is typically used to blow Thermal Green Ultra into open attics. To acheive the R value stated on the bag ensure to blow the specified amount of insulation evenly throughout the attic according to the depth on the chart.
TIP: If there is already insulation in place, cellulose can be blown over the top to increase the R-value and overall performance. If the existing insulation has not deteriorated, isn’t wet or moldy or exhibiting other signs of decay, it usually isn’t necessary to remove it.
ENCLOSED WALL
The equipment available to the do-it-yourselfer is generally not adequate for most applications where enclosed walls or cathedral ceilings must be filled. This type of installation requires specialized tools and knowledge, and frequently involves work performed from ladders or staging around significant and potentially life-threatening hazards such as hidden wiring or plumbing and the home’s electrical service. For these reasons, we do not recommend that the typical homeowner attempt a job of this scope. Please seek the services of an experienced installer.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Cellulose Insulation is one of the greenest products in the world. Cellulose insulation is made from recycled paper products, paper that might otherwise end up in landfills, releasing greenhouse gases as it decomposes. Cellulose insulation does not "save trees", but it makes maximum use of the trees we have already harvested. Cellulose
has the highest level of recycled content in the insulation industry - up to 85%. Fiberglass has a maximum of 40% recycled content and foam products little or none.
Cellulose insulation scrap is recovered on-site. Fibreglass and foam residue go to a landfill and don`t decompose.
RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS
Cellulose is the ideal choice for all types of residential, commercial and industrial construction. Since the fibres of cellulose insulation are much finer than fibreglass Thermal Green Ultra can be blown into difficult, small and irregular locations meeting even the toughest thermal and acoustical challenges.
COST EFFECTIVE
Thermal Green Ultra provides the affordable environmentally friendly thermal solution for all of your insulation needs while continuing to provide superior performance.
CONTRIBUTES TO ENERGY CONSERVATION
Cellulose takes less energy to manufacture than any other insulation material. This is known as embodied energy and includes the total energy required to transport raw materials, manufacture and distribute the product. Thermal Green Ultra then continues to contribute to energy conservation following installation, reducing energy needs and costs.
MEETS CANADIAN STANDARDS
It is the intention of IECS’s Cellulose Product Division to meet or exceed all known regulatory requirements for the jurisdictions in which it operates. Thermal Green Ultra meets or exceeds CAN/ULC-S703 standard for cellulose fibre insulation CFI for buildings.
FIRE RESISTANT
Cellulose is specially treated with retardants in the manufacturing process which slow fire spread through the building by blocking flames and hot gases and restricting the availablilty of oxygen in insulated walls and ceilings. Tests conducted by independent laboratories shows that Cellulose insulation provides an effective 1 hour fire rating. This will slow the spread of a fire allowing you more time to escape any danger.
PROVIDES NOISE REDUCTION
Thermal Green Ultra cellulose insulation provides an excellent sound barrier or absorber.
